1. Stanley Hotel, Estes Park, CO
The Stanley Hotel tops this list as number one for a very good reason. As the inspiration for Stephen King’s The Shining, this hotel will not disappoint even the biggest paranormal fan. Guests have found their clothes to be mysteriously unpacked and have reported seeing objects moving about on their own. Lights have also been known to turn on and off unassisted. For the truly daring, room 217 is rumored to be the most haunted. The hotel also offers ghost tours.

2. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Hollywood, CA

Built in the age of glamour, many celebrities reside in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in the afterlife. One prominent resident is Marilyn Monroe, who has been seen in the mirror in Room 1200 where she previously resided when she was alive. In Room 928, Montgomery Clift has been spotted and heard playing his trumpet. With an occasion brush up against guests his shadowy figure has been reported pacing outside of the room. One of the very first Academy Awards was hosted in the hotel’s Blossom Room where two well-dressed ghosts have been spotted – one man in a tuxedo and another in a white suit. 3. Lizzie Borden House, Fall River, MA

“Lizzie Borden took an axe, And her mother gave forty whacks. After she had seen what she had done, She gave her father forty-one.”
Have your wedding at the actual crime scene of the infamous 1892 Lizzie Borden case! Lizzie Borden is believed to still be living here, even in her afterlife. The Home of Lizzie Borden has been investigated by Travel Channel’s Dead Files and Ghost Adventures.

4. Orleans Waterfront Inn, Cape Cod, MA

There are so many wedding venues in Cape Cod, but there’s nothing quite like the Orleans Waterfront Inn. It’s full of stories (and murders!) When the inn served as a brothel, it’s been reported that a woman named Hannah was killed by one of her clients in Room 4. At the bar, a bartender took his own life. And in the basement, a man named Fred, killed himself!

5. Copper Queen Hotel, Bisbee, AZ

Located in the historical mining town of Bisbee, AZ, Copper Queen Hotel is the only full-service hotel in the city. There are also several ghostly guests that have never left the property. One of the most commonly reported is Julia. The only people who have encountered her have been men. It is said that she will wake male guests up and whisper in their ears. Another common ghost that has settled in the Copper Queen Hotel is a little boy who runs up and down the hallway on the fourth floor. He has even been heard crying when guests turned on their bath water.

6. 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa, Eureka Springs, AR
The 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa has a very interesting history. It was formerly an old “hospital” run by an unlicensed doctor. As you can imagine, there’s no question as to why this was named one of America’s Most Notorious Hotel Ghosts on Travel Channel. One of the many ghosts haunting this hotel even before it was completely built is an Irish stonemason who fell to his death while building the hotel and who now haunts Room 218. He reportedly loves playing with the lights and television. Several other ghosts that reside in the hotel are old cancer patients.

7. Bourbon Orleans Hotel, New Orleans, LA

The Bourbon Orleans Hotel is a former orphanage operating at the time when yellow fever struck. As you can imagine, there have been a lot of deaths within its walls. Inside guest have reported seeing both children and nuns, however, the most popular ghost of all, is a confederate soldier who haunts the 3rd and 6th floors.
Wedding Venue Details: The St. Ann Cottage can hold up to 90 guests and the Orleans Ballroom can accommodate up to 350 guests. There are also a number of wedding packages to choose from at this wedding venue. 8. The Congress Plaza Hotel, Chicago, IL

If you google “Congress Plaza Hotel haunted”, you will see links including: “I Stayed in Chicago’s Most Haunted Hotel And Pretty Much Shit Myself”, “Haunted and Terrible Stay”, and “The Dark History of the Congress Hotel”. As the story goes, there was a family who sought refuge here from Prague during one of the World Wars. During their stay, the mother had a nervous breakdown and threw both of her sons out the 12th floor window.
Unsurprisingly, there have been present day sightings of a little boy running around the 12th floor. Room 441 is also rumored with paranormal activity. Guests have reportedly been kicked awake by a shadow woman, have seen objects moving, and have heard strange noises. Additionally, you might spot Al Capone at the bar or in the lobby!

9. The Driskill Hotel, Austin, TX

The Driskill Hotel is home to two suicides that were exactly 20 years apart. The two victims were both women, now called the “suicide brides”, who killed themselves in the same bathtub in the same room, exactly 20 years apart and apparently for no reason… SO, maybe you can have your wedding here and then stay somewhere else (nervous chuckle.)

10. Hotel Del Coronado, Coronado, CA

In 1892, a woman named Kate Morgan stayed in room 302 (now 3327) in the Hotel Del Coronado and awaited her lover. After five days of waiting, Kate got a gun. People believe that she shot herself, however, the coroner’s report says that it was a different type of bullet than from the one that would have come from her gun. Despite this finding, there was never a re-investigation. She is believed to still occupy the room she waited in, but has also been spotted around the beach and garden.
